Elijah had his 2 month check-up and he's doing great. He weighed an astonishing 11 pounds 15 ounces (i KNEW i should have fed him more that morning so we could break the 12 lb mark!!) He was 22 1/4 inches long. Even though that looked like great progress to me, it put him only in the 10th percentile for his length and 50th percentile for his weight.. .the charts make me feel like there's something wrong with him, but spend 10 minutes with the kid and you know that he's perfect :) So that's that-- we go back in 2 months and my predictions it that he'll be off the charts :) (did everyone see the weight poll on the side of the blog???-- it doesn't say who voted for what but none of the answers ended up being his true weight)
Ummm MORE milestones-- Elijah has learned how to smile, although it's ever elusive whenever I get the camera out to take pictures of him... so I have to be sneaky and stealth like if I want to capture a smile... but I caught the tail end of one yesterday...
Other rare moments captured on film include:
The most rare photograph award however belongs to baby hog, er Auntie Jill who ACTUALLY let Chad hold Elijah. . . I'm thinking she must have been in a different room when Elijah became up for grabs because usually she's there with sticky fingers to take him away from whoever wants to give him up :) (love ya Jill! :)
Madison got to see her Cousin at Christmas for a few das and she was VERY helpful!! Although I think she liked some of Elijah's toys more than he did!
The Great aunts and Great grandmas got to see Elijah too so that was neat-- Cousin Jane got to see him for the first time too!
Auntie Nikki came up for Madison's Christmas play... my pictures for that didn't turn out so well for several reasons-- 1. I brought only one lens and it was too short to get a good view 2. I spent most of the play trying to keep Elijah from crying and the rest of the time sending desperate looks to Nikki who reassured me 100 times that it's ok if a baby cries in church-- it happens. So here's my dirty little secret confession-- i don't take Elijah out into public. I don't have to-- Grandma Laura always offers to watch him and since I'm a germophobe it works out great-- we all stay disease free and I don't stress about having a cart full of groceries and a screaming baby :) BUT we did reach another milestone-- I actually took the baby to Wal-mart for the first time-- it went without incident... of course Grandma Laura was there with backup anyway but STILL... it was a public place and Elijah was there :)
ANYWAY here is a picture that DID turn out great--
We played lots of cards, and Mom proceeded to cheat her way to victory.... Rule changer. :) Other things that make Grandma Mary happy (besides cheating at Golf)... feeding grandchildren... :)
We had great food including some mutant Crab legs (they were Russian crabs so they probably had some radiation mutations that made them to be the size of human femurs-- they were HUGE!!)
We also discovered that Madison does NOT like to ride around on the inside of a tire... :)
It was baby's first Christmas, and was made VERY special by our family... we are so blessed!!

That was quite the update! I pretty much just post pictures on mine! How do you do the slideshows and polls? I do not have the internet savvy that you do! :) Elijah is so big! I wonder what Haylie weighs now . . . hmmm - she is my little Piglet :) How much does he eat at a time?
I would be willing to bet that you have taken MORE than 1,500 pictures...come on-fess up! We love to see them, so keep on posting, please! Sorry I missed Madison in the tire--looks hilarious! I was wondering if you uploaded any of your pics to a site that we could get them from to make prints...
