maybe if this post is good enough, people will forget about the other 6 days of Christmas pictures.

Mmmm k... so it's been FOREVER since I updated, and after several harrassing phone calls from Matt's aunts and one maternal grandmother that shall go unnamed . . . Mary. :)
TADAA!! a real update! :)
I'll go backward since alot has happened since I last updated.
Yesteday Matt's good friends Weston and Sarah had their baby. The delivery didn't go EXACTLY as planned... ok it went NOTHING like it was planned-- they wanted an all natural water birth and ended up with a heavily medicated C-Section. BUT Jackson Charles was born at 9:54 p.m. on New Years Day (too late for the 2007 tax deduction.) We were at the hospital from ALL day... the weather was horrible outside anyway so it's not like we had anything else we could have been doing-- like sun bathing or something :) haha.

While at the hospital out of boredom Matt *finally* took some pictures of his lovely, beautiful wife (that'd be me) and his even more lovely and more beautiful Son (that'd be Elijah-- try to keep up here :)

Elijah had his 2 month check-up and he's doing great. He weighed an astonishing 11 pounds 15 ounces (i KNEW i should have fed him more that morning so we could break the 12 lb mark!!) He was 22 1/4 inches long. Even though that looked like great progress to me, it put him only in the 10th percentile for his length and 50th percentile for his weight.. .the charts make me feel like there's something wrong with him, but spend 10 minutes with the kid and you know that he's perfect :) So that's that-- we go back in 2 months and my predictions it that he'll be off the charts :) (did everyone see the weight poll on the side of the blog???-- it doesn't say who voted for what but none of the answers ended up being his true weight)

Ummmm... ok before that... boredom, snow storm... more boredom.... more snow... CHRISTMAS! !:)
Elijah and I ran away from home the Friday before Christmas and sought refuge at Grandma and Grandpa's house. I don't think Grandma Mary minded the extra company-- just as long as she got to hold her baby she was happy :) (thanks mom for the hospitality!) It was the first time that I had spent the night with Elijah away from Matt-- so that meant it was the first time I had to take care of Elijah for the whoel night by myself (yeah I know-- I'm spoiled)... and what do you know?!?! HE slept through the night!! :) I had nothing to worry about! (until two nights later when Elijah decided that Sleep was for sissies and stayed up all night long forcing Papa to retreat to the garage and sleep in his lazy boy!!)
In other milestones-- I have finally become comfortable giving Elijah a bath-- we have play time almost every day and it puts him to sleep so that's a bonus-- see Mom here is proof that i CAN bathe my baby (I just don't pick him up and throw him around all slippery wet with one hand like you do-- "are you sure you have him?!?!" :) hahaha

Ummm MORE milestones-- Elijah has learned how to smile, although it's ever elusive whenever I get the camera out to take pictures of him... so I have to be sneaky and stealth like if I want to capture a smile... but I caught the tail end of one yesterday...

Other rare moments captured on film include:

Uncle Michael holding baby Elijah for the first time (wow lots of first in one trip!!)... even more elusive than Elijah's smile is Uncle MICHAEL'S smile... here it is captured in a rare photograph!

The most rare photograph award however belongs to baby hog, er Auntie Jill who ACTUALLY let Chad hold Elijah. . . I'm thinking she must have been in a different room when Elijah became up for grabs because usually she's there with sticky fingers to take him away from whoever wants to give him up :) (love ya Jill! :)

Madison got to see her Cousin at Christmas for a few das and she was VERY helpful!! Although I think she liked some of Elijah's toys more than he did!

The Great aunts and Great grandmas got to see Elijah too so that was neat-- Cousin Jane got to see him for the first time too!

Auntie Nikki came up for Madison's Christmas play... my pictures for that didn't turn out so well for several reasons-- 1. I brought only one lens and it was too short to get a good view 2. I spent most of the play trying to keep Elijah from crying and the rest of the time sending desperate looks to Nikki who reassured me 100 times that it's ok if a baby cries in church-- it happens. So here's my dirty little secret confession-- i don't take Elijah out into public. I don't have to-- Grandma Laura always offers to watch him and since I'm a germophobe it works out great-- we all stay disease free and I don't stress about having a cart full of groceries and a screaming baby :) BUT we did reach another milestone-- I actually took the baby to Wal-mart for the first time-- it went without incident... of course Grandma Laura was there with backup anyway but STILL... it was a public place and Elijah was there :)

ANYWAY here is a picture that DID turn out great--

We played lots of cards, and Mom proceeded to cheat her way to victory.... Rule changer. :) Other things that make Grandma Mary happy (besides cheating at Golf)... feeding grandchildren... :)

We had great food including some mutant Crab legs (they were Russian crabs so they probably had some radiation mutations that made them to be the size of human femurs-- they were HUGE!!)

We also discovered that Madison does NOT like to ride around on the inside of a tire... :)

It was baby's first Christmas, and was made VERY special by our family... we are so blessed!!

I would be willing to bet that you have taken MORE than 1,500 pictures...come on-fess up! We love to see them, so keep on posting, please! Sorry I missed Madison in the tire--looks hilarious! I was wondering if you uploaded any of your pics to a site that we could get them from to make prints...
